Fire of Liberty
As most of the readers of Fire of Liberty know, Peter Jennings, a veteran journalist of ABC News and anchor of "World News Tonight," passed away last night due to his battle with cancer. Now I profess that I never liked the broadcast news due to their overwhelming bias but I still has a great amount of respect for Jennings' work and his efforts to present the viewers with the best coverage that money could buy. In some ways, Jennings demonstrated the "American Dream" by starting in the lower rungs of the ABC News ladder, spending years abroad as a foreign correspondent and eventually winning the coveted "Anchor Chair," though such hard work. What really surprising is that he achieved all of this without ever graduating from High School or College thus proving that people can achieve anything in this country through hard-work and determination. So let's raise our glass of Guinness to Peter Jennings and give him a hearty salute and offer a little prayer for his family.
