Fire of Liberty
It might be wise for the Pentagon to call General Bantz Craddock, commander of US Southern Command, and ask him about his most recent assessment of Evo Morales and Hugo Chavez. I don't think the General gets out of the office much to realize that "little Castro" of Venezuela and a pint sized one in Bolivia are not good folks to have as friends when they have joined up with the likes of Castro(Both), Iran (Chavez), side with narco terrorists(Chavez and FARC) and drug runners/dealers (wants to legalize the coca leaf meaning more cocaine is available) not to mention that they have wished bad things to happen to the US and our leaders. By giving a thumbs up or saying that "these are folks we can work with", General Craddock just gives yet another measure of legitimacy to these regimes allowing them to do more of their dirty work to further ensure their grasp on power. We successfully got rid of most of these dictators in the 80's and 90's, lets not continue this realist/strongman foreign policy mistake in South America once again. Our best bet is to avoid standing shoulder to shoulder with populist/dictatorial leaders like these. So someone should call General Craddock real soon and see what's up.
