Fire of Liberty
National Review Online ran a Q&A with Capt. Rozelle about his experience and injuries he recieved serving his nation. Much like a lot of our soldiers in Iraq, Capt. Rozelle has seen his share of IED and land mines. Unfortunately, Capt. Rozelle discovered the reality of these land mines first hand when he stepped on one during a night patrol. While the explosion cost the Capt. his foot, he has persevered and learned to adapt to life with prosthetic foot. His adaptation has progressed so well that he's running marathons, skiing as well as finding time to be deemed fit for duty. Even with his injury, the Captain has re-upped for another tour in Iraq. Such a steely reserve shows how our soldiers are inspirations to us all rather than being a mere fighting man(though anyone who puts their life on the line is a hero to me). To check out more of the Captain's story check out his book Back in Action: The Inspiring True Story of the First Amputee to Return to Active Command in Iraq.
Also check out this piece by Douglas Kern @ Tech Central Station, it pretty much says it all.
