UN Reform

Fire of Liberty

It seems the US is getting serious about holding the UN responsible for its actions. According to The Financial Times, the House International Relations Committee have approved a measure via 25-22 vote in which the US would withhold half of it's $500 million dues. The only way for the UN to resolve this impasse would is through reform such as the simplification of its bureaucracy, prevention of human rights violators like Cuba, Sudan and Libya from sitting on the UN human rights commission and the creation of an independent oversight board and ethics office, especially after the Oil for Food Scandal and the problems in the Congo.

I just hope that the Senate will get some guts and push Bolton through but I'd settle for a recess appointment.
