Now here is an example of how efficient "faith-based charities" can be when they are allowed to flourish and spread their wings during trying times like post-Katrina. If most Americans are given the choice between a big hulking government entity or a religious charity that has ties with the local community, I can assure you they'll shun the feds because the go with the folks they know. I guess that's why when push came to shove these faith-based charities ran circles around FEMA and Louisiana's EMA after the storm.
