Monkey Business

Fire of Liberty
Kong

If you're a fan of LOTR and are waiting for the premier of King Kong, then you don't want to miss this interview with Peter Jackson in The Times. From the looks of it, Jackson seems like a down to earth film-maker, who as a young kid fell in love with the 1933 version of King Kong and with hard work and shear determination he worked his way from his room as a kid, up the ranks of the Independent Film scene to the multi-billion blockbuster like LOTR and hopefully a blockbuster hit with King Kong. Even after racking up tons of cash and fame, he says he wants to take it easy and hang with his kids. I'd say that the part about spending more time with his kids and a settled down life in New Zealand sets him apart from the typical Hollywood mover and shaker. So read the interview and go watch King Kong.

Thought you may wanna check out the scene on the new KK DVD. Peter Jackson redid the scene exactly how they made it originally - stop motion. He used new actors, but rebuilt the props the same way.
