Ganji has Friends in America

Fire of Liberty

Aside from the President calling for the immediate release of Ganji and the reform of human rights in Iran, it seems that Senators Biden (D-RI) Brownback (R-KS) and Santorum (R-PA) have also called for the release of Ganji. Here's a sample of Senator Brownback's statement:
"Mr. Ganji represents many other political prisoners who are denied of their basic rights. Many Iranians claim that they live their daily lives as prisoners to the regime where they are denied most every fundamental human right."
I just wished that UN Secretary General Kofi Annan would find a spine to speak out on behalf of Ganji instead of saying "I don't know enough about the case, so I'd prefer not to comment." I guess if Ganji was a terrorist locked in Gitmo, Saddam or some tin-pot dictator then he might get noticed. I guess it goes to show you how much the UN really cares about the spread of democracy and human rights. Thank God for the United States.
