Saddam's Worst Nightmare

Fire of Liberty

Here's an interesting article in The Times on the selection of Jalal Talibani as the new president of Iraq. It's awesome to see Talabani, who as a Kurd had to struggled for mere survival in the past thirty years under the tyranny Saddam, to take a seat of power like the presidency of Iraq. I guess when you fight a good fight like Talabani has done for the past three decades, you eventually rise to such heights. Well done President Talabani!!! I also enjoyed the part about Saddam having to watch the whole democratic process that's slowly but surely emerging. I hope he about fell out of his seat when he saw a Kurd being appointed the new president by a duly elected 275 member parliament. This is a definitive example of poetic justice.
