Robert Kaplan has a tremendous Op/Ed in The New York Times on the dual role that our Marines/Sailors partake in when they are dispatched into war zones or providing humanitarian relief throughout the World. Kaplan notes that our citizen soldiers take the roles as war-fighter and humanitarian with pride which pays off in our dealings with individuals in Iraq, Indonesia and Africa. Kaplan really shows how great our fighting men are. I don't recommend pieces from the NY Times but this is an exception.
