Christopher Hitchens makes a good point in this Slate article about the concept of the angry "Arab street." Unlike the NY Times and EU elites image of angry youths in the street raging about the west, Hitch notes the "Arab street" is standing up to their own leadership and demanding greater freedoms. He also notes how the cultural elites are creating greater problems throughout Europe through their policies of multi-culturism and a fear of offending "sensitive Muslim" groups.
