The Future of the Anglosphere

Fire of Liberty

Mark Steyn writes a interesting column in today's Chicago Sun-Times on the May 5 UK Election. He notes that even though Blair and his Labour party will win by a decisive margin, the good ole days of Blair's is on its wane. While we might wish for a good victory on Tony's behalf, Steyn notes that Labour is providing Blair with a third victory for his legacy but don't expect him to occupy No. 10 for too long because Gordon Brown is waiting his turn. Labour is drifting even further leftward and the US will soon learn that the close relationship garnered with the UK well be diminished when Brown takes up residency in the vaunted building on 10 Downing Street. I just hope the pull of the Anglosphere is greater than Steyn purports, if not then we're in a mess of trouble.
