Nury Turkel has a great article over at National Review Online on the Uyghurs of northwest China and their daily struggle for religious, political, and social rights that are being repressed by the PRC. If you want to see a demonstration of how cruel China is to its various religious/cultural minorities, then this is a good first step. Luckily, the Uyghur people have individuals like Turkel who provide them with a great link to the outside World of what is occurring in the northwest corner of China. Please check out the article and look at the Uyghur American Association on these proud people battling the forces of an authoritarian China.
