Fire of Liberty
I'd have to say that Bill Kristol has written one of the best pieces in The Weekly Standard on why the Senate Republicans have the right and should enact a rule change on judicial nominations. Though Frist has been wary to pull the trigger on these rule changes for various reasons like the lack of 51 votes or the weary Republicans who fear the Democrats will be unrestrained if they ever regain control of the Senate, the majority leader still has got to enact such changes for the good of our Judicial Branch especially with the possibility of having to appoint another Justice and Chief Justice to the Supreme Court this summer. One thing I can assure you of is that if the Democrats ever retake the Senate and the White House, they will surely change the rules on Judicial nominees to get their judges approved. Let me offer a bit of advice to Senator Frist: "Bill, this is no time to go wobbly."
