Political Correctness hindering our War on Terror

Fire of Liberty

Heather MacDonald has a great piece over at National Review Online that pretty much dismantles the "profiling equals racism," canard that various liberals and civil libertarians always screech when the government legitimately increases safety or policing procedures in our subways and buses. MacDonald notes that as these groups continue to hammer such silly notions about profiling they have an adverse affect on the agencies who are responsible for our well being. Out of the fear of being deemed "racist," the authorities have embraced the ideas of random searches at the airports or railways that end up targeting 65 year old Jewish grandmothers, 10 year old children, elderly people in wheelchairs and Lord knows what else. MacDonald argues that if we are ever going to prevent Islamic terrorists then we have to get over these horrific pc policies and become more observant of individuals who Islamic and come from the various nations like Pakistan, Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and various other nations known as hubs of radical Islamism and terrorist activity. So until we get serious and look at the folks who are more likely to commit terrorism instead of these least likely candidates, the state of our domestic security we'll continue to hang on by small but fraying threads.

Until a 25 year old, white Christian woman from Nebraska boards a train carrying a dynamite laden vest and blows herself up, I think it's a safe bet that we pay attention to the most likely suspects before we have an attack on the scale of the London tube bombing or even worse. For those who tend to forget, we are at war with Islamic fudamentalism and it's way past time we start fighting back and disdain from this silly pc fanfest being spouted by certain members of our press.
