Dodd's Ethical Dilemma

Fire of Liberty

In a previous post, I speculated that Senator Dodd was probably being a sore loser with his introduction of a bill to stop Lockheed Martin and AugustaWestland from replacing Sikorsky as the new manufacturers of Marine One. Well it seems the Senator has a stronger motivation for this bill and it's not votes. According to this article by Deborah Orin in The New York Post, Dodd has garnered a handsome bit of money from Sikorsky and individuals related to the Connecticut helicopter giant. Check out the great reporting of Orin in the following lines:
Dodd infuriated Sens. Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) a few days ago by sneaking through, on voice vote, an amendment to try to kill the contract for an international partnership led by Lockheed Martin which beat out Connecticut-based Sikorsky.

His 2004 re-election campaign records show Dodd got $21,750 in campaign donations from employees of Sikorsky's parent company, United Technologies Corp., as well as $5,000 from the Teamsters Union, which represents the plant's workers.

The UTC donations included $2,000 from CEO George David, and $1,000 each from vice presidents Kent Brittan and William Bucknall.
And the media thinks Tom Delay is bad. I guess you can yuck it up with dictators and Marxists in South America and except money from corporations as long as you have that D after your name. Where's the ethics committee on Senator Dodd?
