Demographic Decline

Fire of Liberty

It seems that the World is facing a population problem. No, its not some Malthusian population boom but a dearth. If people don't improve the situation soon there won't be enough people to replace the aging populations in the World. Europe is facing such a problem today and we're on the verge of the same thing by 2042. Several essays have been written on this particular subject. Check out Stanley Kurtz Policy Review piece Demographics and the Culture War, Phillip Longman's Foreign Affairs piece The Global Baby Bust, and Nicholas Eberstadt's Policy Review article Power and Population in Asia.

These articles provide the evidence for the inpending problem that we face with Soccial Security. By 2042, there will be less workers to replace the retirees. This means for my age bracket 18-35 will either be paying more taxes, recieving less benefits or even an increased retirement age. By using 4% or more of my Social Secrity Taxes on personal accounts, we can forestall a bigger problem. We can free the people from the grip of the federal government. You will see Senators and Congressmen hem and haw about the doom of Social Security but the same system Bush is pushing already exists for federal employees and our elected leaders. Ole Teddy doesn't want to share. Click here, here, here, here, here and here to discover the growing problem with Social Security and the reasoning for private accounts.
