South American Watch

Fire of Liberty

Paul M. Weyrich has a interesting article over at Enter Stage Right which provides some disturbing news about the emerging leftist tyrannies in Venezuela and Brazil. While most people in the MSM are focused on the Middle East, Weyrich has suggested that the American public only have to look in their own hemisphere to find a snake-den of trouble. While we are fighting the War on Terror in the Middle East, the leadership of Venezuela and Brazil are hobnobbing it with various terror states like Libya, Iran, Sudan, Cuba, and Syria. As most of the readers of Fire of Liberty know, Venezuela has also been amassing a huge arsenal which includes some 100,000 AK-47's, 50 Mig-29's, attack helicopters and Lord knows what else from Russia and Brazil. What's Even more startling about these nations is that their leaders see no problem with dealing and protecting the various terror groups like the FARC.

I know that the Pentagon is up to date on the state of things in these nations but the American public might not be. Luckily we have great people like Paul M. Weyrich, Otto Reich and The Wall Street Journal's Mary Anastasia O'Grady, who keep up with happenings in our backyard. Rest assured, Fire of Liberty will continue to provide timely info on problems arising in the Americas.
